The objective of this article is to examine university professors' attitudes toward the use of mobile devices for academic purposes (mobile learning) in an institution of higher education for technological vocational training in Colombia. Since the methodological focus was qualitative, information was collected from fifteen semi-structured in-depth interviews. Based on theory, three analytical categories were identified: knowledge, attitudes and skills, and challenges and opportunities in implementing strategies of mobile learning. The main contributions the participants identified in mobile learning are improved mobility, accessibility, and interactivity in educational processes; they named challenges in the lack of academic promotion, teacher training, limited autonomy in student learning, and difficulties in accessing adequate mobile devices for students. © 2018 Consejo Mexicano de Investigacion Educativa.
