This article analyzes three stories by Edgar Allan Poe (The Demon of Perversity, The Black Cat, and The Tell-Tale Heart). These stories have in common the theme of perversity towards the elucidation. We intend to advance from the Deleuzian premise, according to which it is necessary to return to the literary space where the perversities were named. This Analysis intends to obtain some keys to understanding the causes and consequences of perversity and the nature of these literary characters who, in the three stories cited, define themselves as victims of this condition that incarnates in human beings in the form of a demon. We will be accompanied by the theoretical contributions of Julia Kristeva, Gilles Deleuze, Michel Foucault, François Delaporte, and Claude-Olivier Doron. © 2021 Universidad Catolica Luis Amigo.
