TY - GEN T1 - Neighborhood Store in Colombia: a systematic review of the literature; [Tienda de Barrio en Colombia: una revisión sistemática de la literatura] Y1 - 2024 UR - http://hdl.handle.net/11407/8865 AB - The objective is to analyze the scientific literature on neighborhood stores in Colombia, highlighting their cultural, social and economic relevance in the face of growing competition from large chain stores. Regarding the methodology employed, a systematic review of the literature published between 2013 and 2024 was carried out, databases such as Scopus, Redalyc and EBSCO Host were used, using bibliometric analysis tools such as R and Biblioshiny to identify and evaluate 21 relevant articles. The results reveal five main themes: the cultural and social role of neighborhood stores, commercial strategies, consumer behavior, technological innovation and the historical evolution of retailing. Despite the challenges, neighborhood stores maintain their importance thanks to their connection with their neighbors and community and their ability to adapt. However, the literature presents significant gaps, particularly in terms of marketing, the impact of digitalization, and the response to disruptive events such as the COVID-19 pandemic. It is concluded that neighborhood stores remain key players in Colombian retail, but face critical challenges in a dynamic environment. It is recommended to encourage interdisciplinary research that explores innovative strategies and global trends that can strengthen this important distribution channel. © 2024, Universidad del Zulia.
