dc.description.abstractSoftware production is an increasingly important economic activity; in Latin America, this sector is made up of 99% of SMEs. This highlights the importance of the implementation of Software Engineering best practices in SMEs to improve their productivity. The goal of this article is to present an analysis of project management techniques and tools. The analysis focuses on project planning, project monitoring and control, as support of SMEs in the selection of those techniques and tools appropriate to their environment, so that, the use of and implementation of best practices is promoted. © 2017 AISTI.eng
