El estudio de la comunicación ha recibido gran influencia de las ciencias sociales en general, y de la Filosofía en particular a través de las distintas escuelas y teorías de la filosofía como el estructuralismo, el funcionalismo y el existencialismo entre otras. Pero ha sido el estructuralismo la corriente filosófica que ha logrado crear escuela en el concierto de comunicólogos como Mattelart, Armand y Michele, Castells, De Moragas y otros, abordando el tema de la comunicación desde la visión epistemológica y desde la perspectiva informacional. La búsqueda permanente del objeto de estudio de la comunicación también se ha fundamentado en el estructuralismo entendiendo la comunicación como un sistema de estructuras directamente relacionadas entre sí con fines determinados. En este propósito han sido importantes los aportes de: Saussure, Levi-Strauss, Jakobson, Althusser, Foucault, Piaget, autores que se tratan en el presente artículo.The study of the communication has received great influence of social sciences generally, and the Philosophy in particular through the different schools and theories from the philosophy like the estructuralismo, the functionalism and the existencialismo among others. But the philosophical current has been the estructuralismo that has managed to create school in the concert of comunicólogos like Mattelart, Armand and Michele, Castells, Of Moragas and others, approaching the subject of the communication from the epistemologic vision and the informational perspective. The permanent search of the object of study of the communication also has been based on the estructuralismo understanding the communication like a system of structures directly related to each other to certain aims. In this intention the contributions have been important of: Saussure, Levi-Strauss, Jakobson, Althusser, Foucault, Piaget, authors who treat in the present article.
